The Voynich Manuscript

The Voynich Manuscript is one of the world’s biggest unsolved mysteries. This is the only copy that exists till date and is kept inside Yale University’s library. It was carbondated and it was made around 1420 A.D. But whatever is written, drawn and described is still not understood.

This manuscripts was found by a Polish bookseller Wilfrid Voynich. He came across the document and purchased it from a college in Italy. He brought it to America and tried to find out what was written with the help of experts. The book is full of unknown texts which look like an actual language. There are repeated phrases in all the writings. Also a lot of illustrations made it more interesting. There were pictures of different plants, flowers,  astrological figures, sun, moon, stars even bathing women and so on.

There are many theories around the manuscript. Firstly, the manuscript can be a hoax to earn money. Secondly,  it can be written in secret codes. Lastly it maybe written bt Voynich himself.
